Heat the Tar & Pluck the Hen…it’s Washboard Hank & Reverend Ken!
Travel back in time with Washboard Hank & Reverend Ken. As high-school buddies from Peterboro Canada -their musical journey began in the 1970s on the streets of North America – busking & living hand-to mouth on the streets of Toronto, Nashville, Memphis & San Francisco – hitchhiking, train-hopping & learning the ways of street people, diggers & Moonies while ocasionally having to run from the cops!
Listen to Hank’s song about Ken’s 1993 nine – nothing win at the Supreme Court of Canada having been charged with postering on public property!
Or…the ditty about drinking wine with street urchins on New Year’s Eve in Vancouver in ’77..’We shoould have been sad, we were happy instead’.
After a few years of transient pop-up performances our dynamic duo rode the folk festival circuit, became recording artists & were flown coast-to-coast to live shows. They were featured on countless radio and TV appearances including the ‘Elephant Show’ – eliciting tears of laughter & leaving a trail of fans-for-life.
Today these inveterate multi-instrumentalists employ 5 decades of festival, bar & coffeehouse savvy and the folkie’s love of roots music to their live re-union shows. In truth….
idiots have called them genius’s!
