ST. PATRICK’S DAY KICK-OFF with multiple award winning MAGGIE’S WAKE
Celtic Tradition meets Roots Swagger

Fresh off their acclaimed debut at Ireland’s premier music industry showcase, Maggie’s Wake are back on Canadian soil — and ready to hit the road again with their fiery fusion of Celtic tradition and roots swagger.

These 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award winners are a “new trad” folk group creating an exciting splash in the roots music scene! Expect driving jigs and reels, soaring whistles, double fiddle, flashes of country twang not to mention Cajun/global roots twists that’s pure joy from start to finish.

United in their passion for fiery tunes, soaring vocals with rich harmonies, meaningful stories and beautiful melodies, Maggie’s Wake embraces their wide ranging influences and have built an exciting, new sound. The female-fronted band feature award winning songwriter and multi instrumentalist, Tara Dunphy and award winning violinist/fiddler, songwriter & composer, Lindsay Schindler, backed by the stellar musicianship of Andrew Kosty on bass and Kenneth Palmer on guitar.

Dale Watson, the Texas honky tonk legend, says “You can’t grow if you rip your roots out of the ground” and Maggie’s Wake have taken that to heart. They are honoring tradition while forging their own path in roots music.

The powerhouse quartet came together only in late 2022 and quickly began touring in Ontario, playing small halls, some festivals and theatres, which went over so well that they actually sold out many dates on their first “Spirit of the Season” holiday tour that December. Their debut, self-titled album won the 2025 Canadian Folk Music Award for ‘New Artist of the Year’, they launched a Holiday EP at the close of 2025, and they’re set to release their sophomore album in May… not bad for a band formed only a few short years ago.
